"There were mixed trends in the US cough & cold category during MAT Q1 2025, with a severe flu season in early 2025 unable to offset negative factors such as lower incidence during the rest of the period, high inventories and uncertainty regarding the OTC future of oral phenylephrine. The story was even worse in allergy remedies as a mild season saw most key brands decline, proving once again that despite our industry’s best efforts, the performance of the CCA category is largely beholden to factors outside our control."
