"New data from DB6 reveals a bleak picture for China, by far APAC’s largest CHC market, with store retail growth slowing once again (+0.8% MAT June 2025). Numerous marketers have reported struggling sales in H1 2025 as a result of inventory backlogs caused by post-pandemic stockpiling, a weak cold & flu season, and declining footfall in retail pharmacies owing to online competition and cost pressures. While these problems can’t be fixed overnight, chain pharmacy / marketer tie-ups for offline-only new products, in-store experiences and expert advice could go some way to enticing consumers back into stores."
